The experience that GreenBroke Creations has with customizing Breyers spans many years. Although customizing a model involves refining pieces that already exist, it involves quite a bit of original sculpting as well. The artist must know and understand equine anatomy, including its function and movement. He or she must utilize this information during the sculpting process. The artist must turn the visualization of the horse in mind into a reality that others can see and appreciate. It is a long and painstaking process that includes coming up with an idea, finding the right body to use, manipulating that body according to the vision, resculpting, refining, cleaning, and sanding. All of this work is followed by a critique, which often results in more resculpting and sanding and another critique, and so on and so on. The last step is finding and creating the perfect paint job and a sigh of relief! Every artist has a different way of putting everything together. As with any art form, each artist must discover which methods work best for him or her. After all is said and done, some pieces will be sold, some are kept by the artist, and some will be cast and sold as limited editions. The pictures below outline various phases of the process we go through to bring our original creations to you!
